Engaging Executive Transit Leadership with Strategic Research
As deputy project manager and interview design lead of the 2024 APTA Transit Equity Report, I spearheaded a comprehensive national review of transit service and customer satisfaction across 75 transit organizations, with in-depth case analyses of 11 agencies. I led the interview design and implementation process, including question selection, outreach, facilitation, and engaging senior transit leaders to surface both institutional challenges and emerging models of equity-centered transit for better service for communities. My team's authorship shaped the report’s strategic recommendations, now used by agencies across the U.S. to embed equity in operations, fare policy, service design, and workforce development. The report has been featured in national transportation media and cited in policy forums as a benchmark for engagement in public transit.
